About Don Koch, ING DIRECT CEO
Don Koch's appointment as CEO of ING DIRECT Australia represents a full cycle for a career that has taken him from Australia to Europe and Asia and back again.
Don started with ING DIRECT in 1999. As Head of technology and Chief Information Officer Don was responsible for the introduction of the ING DIRECT flagship product, the Savings Maximiser, a product that delivered to Australians the first high interest no fees online savings account.
Now, ten years on, Don is back to steer ING DIRECT into an exciting new era of growth and prosperity with key new products planned, including a transactional account.
Don Koch began his career in the banking sector in Technology Management for the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA), then the largest and premier retail banking organization in Australia.
Departing CBA in late 1995, he joined Citibank and later assumed the role of Chief Information Officer for Citibank Consumer Banking Australia Ltd, with responsibility for Australia and New Zealand.
Don joined the ING Group in January 1999, and over the past decade has progressed through the organization, holding a number of international posts throughout Europe, India and Australasia.
Don has advanced skills in managing people, processes and technology, the requirements needed to help ING DIRECT continue to deliver industry leading customer service.
Born in 1961, Don is married with two teenage children.
