Orange Everyday

We get a lot of satisfaction from delivering better offers in banking. So we're happy we can offer you everyday banking without any monthly account keeping fees, as well as no ING DIRECT fees on everyday transactions. For not-so-everyday transactions, please see the Orange Everyday Fees and Charges booklet

No, we don't have any ATMs. Not having branches or ATMs saves us money, that's why we don't charge you fees for using any of the 26,000 ATMs in Australia.

ATM owners, however, will charge you. So, each time you withdraw $200 or more from any ATM in Australia (which helps us) we'll instantly reimburse you the ATM owner fee.

Just get in the habit of withdrawing $200 or more, and no more ATM fees for you.

Definitely. Simply get 'cash out' when using your Visa Debit Card at EFTPOS terminals at participating major retailers. No matter the amount, you won't be charged by ING DIRECT for this type of withdrawal. And if you get $200 or more cash out at any EFTPOS terminal in Australia, we'll actually pay you $0.50!

The Cash Out Bonus of $0.50 is paid every time you take $200 or more cash out at any EFTPOS terminal in Australia. It will appear immediately after the transaction in your Orange Everyday.

We realise not relying on a branch is something we all need to get used to, so here's a list of how you can bank with us without needing a branch. Refer to our Branchless Banking section in How to Use the Orange Everyday.

Each time you use your Visa Debit Card to make a cash withdrawal of $200 or more at any ATM in Australia, we'll rebate you the ATM operator fee you're charged. As soon as you've made your withdrawal, the ATM fee rebate will appear in your account instantly!

We don't offer rebates for any other fees you may be charged at ATMs, including fees for balance enquiries or foreign exchange conversions.

To get your balance (without a fee from an ATM owner):

  • log in at our website, or
  • call us on 133 464.

When using Phone Banking press 1, enter your Client Number then #, and from the Orange Everyday menu, press 1

Yes, simply log in at ingdirect.com.au. Go to 'My Account Details' and click 'Linked Bank Account'. Then follow the instructions to change your Linked Bank Account for each of your products to your Orange Everyday. Note: Each ING DIRECT savings product can only have 1 linked bank account.

Make a deposit

You can do this by having your salary deposited into your account, transferring money from another eligible ING DIRECT account (if linked to your Orange Everyday) or by a 'Pay Anyone' transfer from your current bank.

Sign & Activate your card

When you receive your Visa Debit Card sign the back of your card and log in at ingdirect.com.au. Go to 'My Account Details' and click 'Activate Card'.

Start using your card

Make a purchase by pressing the 'Credit' button to use your PIN or signature or 'Savings' to use just your PIN. (If you open a second Orange Everyday and link it to the same Visa Debit Card, you'll select 'Cheque' to access the second account).

Update your direct debits

Contact any companies where you have direct debit arrangements, and give them your Orange Everyday account number and our BSB 923-100.

For Direct Debit forms log in at ingdirect.com.au using your Client Number and Access Code, then go to 'My Personal Details' and click 'Forms'.

Your Orange Everyday Visa Debit Card is not a credit card. It functions exactly like any EFTPOS card, but with the benefits that come with Visa. You can use it online, over the phone, over the counter, at ATMs and even overseas. Because it's linked to your Orange Everyday, you only use your money, so there's no need to carry around cash or cheques.

As it comes with the advantages of a Visa card, you can use it anywhere Visa is accepted in over 29 million locations worldwide. With a Visa Debit Card you can stay in control of what you spend and where you spend it, because it's your money.

When you receive your Visa Debit Card sign the back of your card and log in at ingdirect.com.au. Go to 'My Account Details' and click 'Activate Card'. Alternatively, you can call us on 133 464 and we'll be happy to activate your card for you. Please do this as soon as you receive your card so you can start transacting straight away.

Please call us on 133 464 (or +61 2 9028 4077 if you are overseas) straight away and speak to one of our Direct Associates. They'll let you know what needs to happen and organise a replacement card for you if required.

Please call us on 133 464 (or +61 2 9028 4077 if you are overseas) and speak to one of our Direct Associates. They will happily organise a replacement card for you.

Unfortunately, you can't change the PIN for your Visa Debit Card once it has been set. You will only be able to select a new PIN if you obtain a new Visa Debit Card.

Transfers to other bank accounts (Pay Anyone)
The maximum amount you can transfer to other bank accounts is $2,000 per day. You can increase this limit to $5,000 online, or $10,000 by calling a Direct Associate on 133 464.

Cash out using your Visa Debit Card
The maximum amount of cash you can take out at ATMs, Bank@Post and EFTPOS is $2,200 per day. This limit includes any ATM operator fees, even the ones we rebate.

Purchases using your Visa Debit Card
The maximum amount you can purchase by selecting:

  • 'Cheque' or 'Savings' is $5,000 per day.
  • 'Credit' is the balance of the account.

Note: the minimum or maximum amount of purchases or cash you can withdraw depends on the ATM, financial institution, Bank@Post or merchant.

Smaller limits may apply due to system failures or maintenance.

BPAY® payments
You can only make BPAY payments between the minimum and maximum limit set by the biller for individual BPAY payments. Billers with multiple biller codes set limits for each code (and may vary). The limits may also depend on what type of account the payment is coming from (e.g. an everyday account or a credit card).

Bank cheques
The maximum amount you can withdraw is the balance of the account (minimum withdrawal is $1,000 per bank cheque).

Note: 'per day' means each day ending at approximately 12 midnight Sydney time.

4pm (Sydney time) on business days for BPAY payments. Billers who participate in the BPAY Scheme agree that generally they'll treat a BPAY payment as received on the day you make the BPAY payment, if you tell us to make that payment before the cut-off time on a business day; or on the next business day, if you tell us to make that payment either after the cut-off time on a business day or on a non-business day.

7pm (Sydney time) on business days for withdrawals to other bank accounts. If a withdrawal to the other bank account is made before the cut-off time on a business day, the funds are generally transferred to the other bank account on the next business day. If a withdrawal to the other bank account is made after the cut-off time on a business day, or on a non-business day, the funds are generally transferred to the other bank account on the second business day after the withdrawal is made.
